Tantric Breath Work
Tantric breathing activates the vagus nerve. The vagal nerves are the principal nerves in the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system governs the body’s ability to relax.
When the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, the body enters a state of relaxation, relaxation induces recovery. For example, a modest massage of the head and neck can assist in improving the function of the vagus nerve.
Breathing is an autonomous function of the body that can be controlled. Bringing intention to breath raises awareness. In women, the vagus nerve connects the functions of the throat, chest, cervix, and uterus. Conscious breathing exercises offer profound results in raising sensual awareness.
Laughter, singing, exercise, breath work, and massage are wonderful ways to activate the vagus nerve. Consider adding Tantric breath work to an active daily health and wellness routine.
